Dr. Mohammad Yunus born in 1940 in the seaport city of Chittagong. Professor Yunus completed his academic career from Dhaka University in Bangladesh. After then he receives a scholarship to study economics at Vanderbilt University.In 1969 he achieved his PhD. D. And after sometimes he joint as an assistant professor in Middle Tennessee State University. After returning to Bangladesh, Yunus joint as a professor of economic department at Chittagong University.
Professor Muhammad Yunus established the Grameen Bank in Bangladesh in 1983. His main objective was to help poor people by providing lone. Every body knows his bank as “Bank of poor people”. One of the important things is that every bank in Bangladesh follows different rules when providing loan, but Grameen Bank is more favorable to provide lone. He is the first introducer of micro credit concept. He starts his activities relating to micro credit from Cobra Gram in Bangladesh. Many people achieve their economic independence by using such micro credit.
